B.) Plot the data from your table on a coordinate grid. Be sure to label the axes. Explain how you chosHaris5-2.JPGe the scale for each axis.
I chose the scale for Tune ups by just making it in the original order because it is not as big as 1200. The Axis for Profit is made into intervals of 50 so that I could save some space and squeeze in 1200 in.

C.) What will Jean’s profit be if she does only four Tune ups. How is this shown on the graph?
If she does 4 Tune Ups she would ear $240 which means her profit is -$560. On the graph is showing a straight diagonal line from 0-240.

D.) How many tune ups will Jean have to do before she breaks even? How is this shown on your graph?
She would have to do 14 tune ups which will get her $840 with $40 as her first profit. On the graph it shows a straight diagonal line from 0-840.

E.) How does Jean’s profit change with each tune up she does? How is this shown on the graph?
Her Profit just goes up $60 for each tune up. On the graph it is just a continuation of the straight diagonal line.

Follow Up:

1.) Jean figure out that she could decrease her start up cost to $600 by buying used tools. She writes a new equation, P=60t-600, to determine her profit. What is the break even point for this profit equation?
The Break even point is 10 tune ups so that she gets $600. 10t=$600.

2.) Jean’s friend Chuck thinks Jean should advertise her business in the local paper. This would increase her costs, giving her the profit equation, P=60t-1200. What is the break even point for this profit equation?
The break even point would be 20 tune ups to get $1200. 20t-$1200.
